What is the difference between “Select” & “Total”
Select Extraction:
Targets specific components.
Precision-focused, isolating certain plant parts.
Yields oils with a distinct and focused scent.
Often used for specific therapeutic or aromatic purposes.
Total Extraction:
Aims to capture all available components.
Involves using the entire plant or a significant part.
Yields a more complex fragrance, reflecting the plant's diversity.
Preferred for a broad range of potential effects, often in holistic practices.
Comparison:
Select is precise; total is comprehensive.
Select might be more resource-intensive; total is more efficient.
The choice depends on goals, whether for specific or diverse characteristics.
Remember, the best method depends on what you want from the final product!

What is Co2 extraction?
A more recent addition to the aromatherapist’s range of ingredients, CO2 extracts are some of the most exquisite oils I’ve come across.
Historically only used for perfumery and culinary ingredients, extracting an oil using compressed carbon dioxide in liquid form produces a different oil compared to steam distillation. It retains all its therapeutic and aromatic elements but also the heavier elements of the aroma that are often not captured in steam distillation.
The process is more costly, as it requires particular knowledge and skill. I think the result makes the cost worthwhile, and hope you’ll discover for yourself what makes these so special.
